  • Observation tower. From the Jaala tower located on Ahdinpuu Mountain, you can admire the lake scenery of the surrounding area 60 m above the surface of Lake Pyhäjärvi (distance 8 km).
  • Karhulampi shelter. You can walk along the paths from the hotel yard to the campfire (5 km).
  • Natural spring. A rich spring bubbling to ground level, from which also many villagers take their drinking water (5 km).
  • Kimola Canal. A unique canal between Lake Päijänne and the Kymijoki River, where the lock height between the upper and lower water levels is 12 m.(10 km from hotel)
  • Verla Factory Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A unique cardboard factory where you can see and experience how the local village lived and made paper 100 years ago. (10 km from hotel)
  • Verla rock paintings. 6 000 year old paintings near the Verla rapids, next to the Verla museum.
  • Jukakoski rapids and fly fishing area. Beautiful river, small lakes and rapids, where you can also try fly fishing. (10 km)
  • Myllykoski. Another rocky rapids with fishing possibility (7 km from hotel).
  • Puolankakoski. Strong current river, damn and rapids area. Possibility to fish salmon. 11 km from hotel along the road. It is also possible go by canoe or boat from Jaala to Verla through the Puolankakski rapids by pulling the boat with a cable (15 km by water).
  • Hiidenvuori. A very high rock rising up to the height of 60 m from water level. There you can see magnificent views around. There is a unique 100 year old tradition with the Mount Hiidenvuori. Every summer there is arranged a piano concert on the hill and the piano is carried up on the mountain by men force. (20 km from hotel)
  • Heisanharju nature reserve area. You can experience there an atmosphere similar to the wilderness of Lapland but only a short distance away. There are two huts, a swimming pier, and a unique ridge landscape. (25 km from hotel)
  • Several kayaking or canoeing routes. From the shore of Pyhäjärvi, you can access really vast water areas tens of kilometers away. You can paddle to the Kimola Canal or the Verla Museum. Between Karijärvi and Niskajärvi there is an excellent 25 km long river kayaking route with guided stopping and refreshing places.
  • Cycling routes. Numerous opportunities for bike trips ranging from 5 to 500 km on peaceful country roads, aiming for interesting sights.
  • Golf. At Lampila Golf, you can practice putting on a unique 18-hole mini-golf course or even complete your green card on a full-size golf course.
  • Swimming beaches. Several beaches with really clear water, can be accessed walking or biking. (2-7 km from hotel)
  • Ateljee Pihkahovi. A large sculpture by a wood artist from Jaala, full of excellent sculptural art. (10 km from hotel)
  • Hartola shop and café. A vibrant little village shop where you can feel a genuine country atmosphere. (13 km from hotel)
  • Huhdasjärvi museum area and summer café Kierivä Kuu. A group of buildings, over a hundred years old have been gathered on the museum field. There is also a school museum and a village café that is open depending on the situation, often with live music.
