More rewarding visiting destinations can be found within less than 20 km from our hotel, by walking or cycling:
- Observation tower. From the Jaala tower located on Ahdinpuu Mountain, you can admire the lake scenery of the surrounding area 60 m above the surface of Lake Pyhäjärvi (distance 8 km).
- Karhulampi shelter. You can walk along the paths from the hotel yard to the campfire (5 km).
- Natural spring. A rich spring bubbling to ground level, from which also many villagers take their drinking water (5 km).
- Kimola Canal. A unique canal between Lake Päijänne and the Kymijoki River, where the lock height between the upper and lower water levels is 12 m.(10 km from hotel)
- Verla Factory Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A unique cardboard factory where you can see and experience how the local village lived and made paper 100 years ago. (10 km from hotel)
- Verla rock paintings. 6 000 year old paintings near the Verla rapids, next to the Verla museum.
- Jukakoski rapids and fly fishing area. Beautiful river, small lakes and rapids, where you can also try fly fishing. (10 km)
- Myllykoski. Another rocky rapids with fishing possibility (7 km from hotel).
- Puolankakoski. Strong current river, damn and rapids area. Possibility to fish salmon. 11 km from hotel along the road. It is also possible go by canoe or boat from Jaala to Verla through the Puolankakski rapids by pulling the boat with a cable (15 km by water).
